I just installed the program and it is inctredibly difficult to learn. I have mastered Poser 7 and by my observations, Poser 7 was ten times easier to learn. How long does it usually take to be pretty good at Maya or softimage (not an expert).

Is there a program that can do the same 3D rendering as Softimage? I like the plugin called FinalToon that renders in Anime style. Is there another program that does that?

I just bought this external hard drive from Lightwave which uses above Toshiba hard disk. When I tried to link it to my laptop thr' USB, it's not recognising. But it does in the desktop. Is there any problem or this hard drive can't be used on laptop at all?
my laptop is Toshiba satellite 2005 model with windows XP home edition. is it something with the USB port? i tried in all 3 ports.
