I have a bunch of png images that I want to make transparent so that they won't have that obnoxious white box around them. How would I go about doing this? I just downloaded Gimp since I know it can make images transparent somehow, and I have no idea how to work the program.

I want to know how people are coding their sites designed in GIMP / Photoshop. I've seen a lot of tutorials about designing a website in GIMP / Photoshop but most do not include how to code it.

I need help from someone who is familiar with the program Gimp (similar to photoshop). I need to make part of the top layer transparent so that the bottom layer will show through.

I need to use paint or gimp to mass edit 100 pictures with just a few clicks. Meaning, if I change the color in 1 picture, it would also change that spot in another picture. This is an animated picture, and they are all the same size. Thanks in advance!

BTW: please don't say photoshop. I don't have it and I don't have the money to get it.

When ever I try to resize images on GIMP and make them smaller (not bigger!), they get all blurry. Is there something I can do to make them not blurry? You would think making them smaller would make them better quality <. >

I am using the GIMP Photo editing software, and I need to edit a girl out of a picture. She about 5 mm tall, and surrounded by grass. Ideally, the grass would extend over the length of the field, and where she is crouching would appear as grass as well.

I am aware that I could
(1) copy a section of grass and paste it over her or
(2) do a Gaussian blur to blend her in with her background

Is there a better way to make her blend in with the grass?

Every time I try to set the image to be transparent t the background in PowerPoint, its messes up. The white parts of the image blend in with the background which screws everything up. I figured I could solve this by download gimp. In gimp I made the picture transparent but when I copy and paste it over to PowerPoint, only the outline of the image shows. What gives? How can I fix this?

Has any body tryed the photo program called GIMP? Is it safe to use? No Viruses, Spyware, Ad-ware, Trojans???? Thanks.
