3ds Max 2011, would I go for a higher processor or a higher
#1
I'm planning to buy a laptop that I'll be using for 3ds Max 2011, will I opt for a higher processor but w / a 512 shared video memory or a bit slower processor with a 1GB dedicated video memory? will it make difference in terms of use of 3ds Max?

lol 3d work requires alot of high end hardware.

if i was gonna get into that, i would get a quad core proc (intel / amd), a 2 gig ATI HD 5000, 8gigs of ram.

a vid card with 512 mb will die (not really but it will lag like hell)

CPU and video memory are both crucial for performance. But, they both contribute differently.

CPU= Faster render times.

MEMORY=Faster real time work flow. Basically everything that happends in your viewport as you are working. You may notice that your system will slow down as your 3d scene becomes more crowded if you video card memory is too low.

Unless you are doing intense renderings you may want to opt for the extra video card memory.
