How do I make a realistic texture in 3dsmax?

I can't find one decent tutorial on how to make a texture look realistic in 3ds max. How can I do it? Can you tell me the way you do it or point me in the right direction?

We as animators use photoshop to make textures there are a lot of tutorials out there that are done in PS 3ds max is an animation program yes you can design some texture in the newer version of max but you wont able to do a lot of texture work in max. So if you don't have photoshop then you need to go out and buy it.
