How can I add a logo image to a rotating 3d sphere in 3Ds ma
#1
I need to have the image of a logo on a rotating sphere in 3d max. I have tried importing an illustrator file and beveling and bending it but it doesn't look right. I just want to stick the logo image to the surface of the sphere and rotate the sphere.

press M and the materials edit would open. Click on a material slot, under the Maps rollout click on the diffuse slot select Bitmap, browse for your image.
Apply that material to the sphere by drawing and doping it on the sphere.

to modify how the image looks add a uvw map modifier to the sphere and choose a mapping
by default it has a spherical one, which works fine.

Doesn't look right eh ?

kay,
1. press M to open Material Editor
2. Click the small box beside 'Diffuse''s color, and click 'Bitmap' and open your .jpg or .bmp, etc...
3. There you have your image in your material, then drag the material into your 'object'

Well done, your picture is on your sphere now.
Now, if the picture doesn't look right on your sphere, follow these steps (only works for a mere sphere)

1. Add "UVW Mapping" on your Sphere's Modifier List.
2. There you will have the option of 'UVW Mapping' and choose 'Spherical'

E-mail me if you don't know what modifier list is Sad
