Should I buy a desktop instead and wait a couple of years before buying a macbook with a better graphic card?
I'd be running the software through Windows 7 on bootcamp.

buy the desktop. You will not be happy with the base Macbook. also if you are looking to do development, not only will you suffer from the processor and the video, but the available display. I nominally have 5 open windows during code runs without running into troubleshooting.
