Autodesk Maya = Used by most video game, movie production, visual effects, and commercial production companies. This is a large package that has modeling, animating, rendering, dynamics, and other artistic features. If you want to learn more about computer graphics in entertainment, this is the way to go.
Autodesk AliasStudio = This is not used in the entertainment industry. It is mainly for engineering and product design. You do not make characters or animate them using this software. It is similar to AutoCAD.
