How Big Is The Maya File Example:(1GB)

Re: AutoDesk Maya? - Hipple - 01-22-2011

In Maya you can save using a binary format (. mb) or an ASCII format (. ma). People usually use the binary format, which is always smaller.

A small scene (a few, medium resolution objects) saved should be less than 1 MB. If your geometry gets heavy (lots of vertices / control points) the file gets around 20-40 MB. (But keep in mind: textures, particle caches are stored in separate files)

1 GB files are rare, unless you work in the rendering department of a big post production studio. . .
