I am using the GIMP Photo editing software, and I need to edit a girl out of a picture. She about 5 mm tall, and surrounded by grass. Ideally, the grass would extend over the length of the field, and where she is crouching would appear as grass as well.

I am aware that I could
(1) copy a section of grass and paste it over her or
(2) do a Gaussian blur to blend her in with her background

Is there a better way to make her blend in with the grass?

Thanks!
i think you have the right idea, first create duplicate of background, then by copying a section of grass, and pasting over top the girl in new layer, try that, save layer then on new layer try, copy the girl and grass around her equal in proportions and use clone stamp tool to copy pieces of grass near by and stamp over girl , then smudge edges a little with convolve droplet,
. .
