How to I Find the Surface Area of this?

A tank with cylindrical section and half a sphere at each end.

Its 6ft long with a diametre of 2.2 ft.

Well...Sir or Madam..

Surface Area of a Cylinder = 2 pi r 2 + 2 pi r h

(h is the height of the cylinder, r is the radius of the top)

Surface Area = Areas of top and bottom +Area of the side

Surface Area = 2(Area of top) + (perimeter of top)* height

Surface Area = 2(pi r 2) + (2 pi r)* h

That's how you do it..

Surface area of rectangular prism less top & bottom =

6 x ( 2.2 + 2.2 + 2.2 + 2.2 ) = 6 x 8.8 = 52.8

Surface area of sphere = 4 x pi x r x r

4 x 3.14 x 1.1 x 1.1 = 15.1976 = 15.2 sq ft

Total surface area = 52.8 + 15.2 = 68 sq ft ANSWER
