I have a problem with GIMP 2.6?

GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.

I have a problem with GIMP 2.6?

Postby Brent » 22 Jan 2011, 16:52

I have WindowsVista on my laptop
When I open Gimp2.6 it stops responding at 'Looking for Data Files, Fonts (this may take a while)'
It takes ages to load but after a while it loads
And after a while about 5-20mins it will stop responding and Gimp will just shut down
However GIMP is fine on my main PC
Does anyone know why this is ?
Thanks xo

How many fonts do you have?.... and how much capacity does your computer have?

It may just be that you have to many fonts. Try placing 90% of the fonts in a new folder (named 'outsourced fonts' for example) and try again. You can always place them back.

If that does not work you may need a stronger laptop.
