so i have gimp and its my first time on it today and i drew something and i want to post it on deviant art but it wont let me do i have to change the file type? what?

Okay. (: I saw your post earlier today, did you figure it out since you posted the question? I just started using gimp today and found out what you were talking about. ^^ What I did was

- finish your picture completely in gimp (save it if you want just like your doing in gimp)
- copy your picture and opened paint
- paste in paint
- save in paint (yes the regular old paint aha)

and you should be able to upload from there (: Just submit and all that stuff at DA.
